Family Accommodation

The Family Centre
At the Alberta Children’s Hospital we encourage parents or guardians to stay with their child at all times. All units with the exception of the intensive care unit (ICU) have bedside facilities so that one parent can sleep next to their child. In addition the hospital has rooms in the family accommodation area which is located in The Family Centre on the second floor of the hospital and can be booked by a Family Support Specialist at (403) 955-3272.  The rooms consist of two single beds, full bathroom, telephone, desk, family lounge with fireplace, kitchen, and laundry facilities.  The rooms cannot be reserved in advance but will be allocated on a daily basis based on priority.

Ronald McDonald House
For out of town families needing overnight accommodations Ronald McDonald House offers an affordable home away from home.  The house has a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, laundry room, cozy living room areas, and 23 private suites with linen and towels, three-piece bathrooms, private phone line and wireless internet access. Please contact a Family Support Specialist at (403) 955-3272 for a referral to the Ronald McDonald House or more information.
