Family to
Family Connections
The Family to Family Connections is a program where Volunteer
Supportive Families provide one-to-one
support to a Requesting Family member
around a shared child or youth health and well being concern.
This support is to help Requesting Families access the
knowledge held by other families who have gone through
similar life events with their children or family members.

This connection among families, who
have experienced similar circumstances, provides support,
information sharing and access to the unique knowledge that
parents hold.
Family members are not expected to meet in person due to time, large geographic distances and their own decisions around privacy. However, for some families, meetings with others become more meaningful when there is a personal meeting, face to face and a hospital setting may not be possible or preferred. If family members agree to meet face to-face, outside of a Alberta Health Services location, Family to Family Connections is unable to assure the families of a secure meeting location. This is why all families are asked to sign the consent/waiver before beginning their connections.
The Family to Family Connection
Coordinator is located at the Family & Community Resource
Centre at the Alberta Children's Hospital Monday
to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30
p.m.
